Meet Jerry O’Brien

Jerry is a Founder and Managing Member of RenoMoney.

Jerry has direct experience running a private lender as a Managing Partner of Builders Trust Capital.  Prior to Builders Trust Capital, Jerry was COO of Genesis Capital, one of the largest private lenders to builders in the country, where he managed sales and operations.

Prior to Jerry’s roles in private lending, he served in various senior roles at Fannie Mae culminating in his promotion to Co-Head of Operations for one of the largest financial institutions in the world.  He ran all customer facing operations at Ocwen Financial, a top non-bank loan servicer, where he managed over 3,000 people across 9 locations and 3 countries.  Prior to Ocwen, Jerry spent several years in senior level roles across various HSBC lending subsidiaries.  His HSBC experience spans diverse functions including strategy, project management, systems administration, product development, and marketing.

Earlier in his career, Jerry was a strategy consultant in the commercial practice of Booz Allen Hamilton (now Booz & Co.) and an investment banker at SG Cowen and Legg Mason Wood Walker where he worked in M&A, corporate finance, and private equity.

Jerry has an MBA from New York University in Management and Finance and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
